SACS Business Network FAQs

 

How do I use the SACS Business Network?
1. As a consumer, simply search the website for a suitable supplier of the service you need.
2. Make direct contact with the service provider(s) and make it clear that your have contacted them through the SACS Business Network.
3. Request quotes, products or services as you would in any normal business arrangement.
4. Once you have used a service provider, please provide feedback to us using the Feedback menu on the main site.
5. Please also rate the supplier using the satisfaction star rating buttons at the bottom of the supplier page.

 

Who qualifies to register their business on the network?
Any current SACS parent or SACS Old Boy who has their own business, or is an employee of a business. Your business is required to commit to a making a donation/contribution to SACS from the business you derive from the network.

 

Can my business join if my son has left SACS?
At this stage only current SACS parents and Old Boys are permitted to join the network. This may be reviewed over time.

 

How do I register my business on the network?
1. Register as a member
2. Once approved, use the SACS Business network site to add a business entry and follow the instructions
3. Pay the initial registration fee.
4. Once approved by the administrator, your site will be live on the network.

 

How long will registration of my business take?
Registration as a member should take less than 5 minutes.
Initial approval of your site might take 24 – 48 hours, depending on the commitments of the administrator.

 

What information should I include on the SACS Biz site?
The entry from has certain mandatory information which must be completed. The main body text area allows you to add relevant information and descriptors about your business.

It is advisable to keep the information short and to the point and to limit the use of graphics/pictures on the site. Consumers will have the option of clicking on to your business website to get more information.

What are the costs of being a listed service provider in the network?
You are requested to make an initial payment of R100 pa to be registered on the network.
An integral part of being in the network is your commitment to make a contribution to the school for every business transaction generated through the network. Guidelines have been provided, but each business makes their own individual commitment which is highlighted in their business information.

 

What does the service provider have to give to the school and how?
An integral part of being in the network is the supplier’s commitment to make a contribution to the school for every business transaction generated through the network. Guidelines have been provided, but each business makes their own individual commitment which is highlighted in their business information.

Service providers are requested to pay their contribution to the school on a monthly basis. The bank account details are provided on the supplier detail page.

 

How do I edit my site?
1. Login to the site with your user name and password.
2. Click on “My Listings” and all of your sites will be listed
3. Click on the Edit button and make the changes required.
4. Click Send to submit the changes for approval.

Who administers the network?
The SACS Business Network is sponsored and approved by the SACS Governing Body and works through the SACS PTA. It is administered by the SACS Junior School PTA.

 

Are there any restrictions/limitations?
The services and products offered need to be consistent with the values, ethos and reputation of the school. The SACS parents and Old Boys participating need to be in good standing with the schools. The site administrators reserve the right to refuse any site entry or information, at their sole discretion.

 

How do I know that the service provider will make the promised contribution to the school?
The feedback mechanism will be used to track the estimated volume of business generated for each service provider. This will be reconciled on a monthly/quarterly basis with the service providers.

 

How do I rate a service provider?
Go to the bottom of the service provider detail page and select a start rating. You can also write a short review.

 

How do I give feedback that I have used a service provider?
To give feedback on a service provider, select the Feedback tab on the main menu bar and complete the feedback form on-line.

 

How do I give feedback on the network as a whole or make suggestions for improvement?
Please use the Contact Us page and list your comments and suggestions in the text section.
